<p>Commercial form of optical brightener consists of an optical brightener nI) in the form of a dry powder, which is provided with a wrapping (II) which is soluble in a solvent (esp. water), suitable for the prepn. of (I) soln. or paste. It pref. also has a second wrapping (III), which pref. is impermeable to water. (I) pref. is a water-soluble cpd., esp. of the stilbene series. (II) pref. is PVA. The prod. has an attractive appearance. It allows a predetermined dose of (I) to be added to water without opening the package, obviating the danger of contamination or irritation of the mucous membranes of the consumer by dust particles etc.</p> |
