IMMUNOLOGICALLY ACTIVE MOLDING FOR MEDICAL USE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To allow the prevention of the generation of an infectious symptom arising in complication and the early healing thereof at the time of indwelling of a useful article in the body by forming the molding for medical use in such a manner that a material having a catalytic effect to active oxygen species is bonded by covalent bonding thereto. CONSTITUTION:After the surface of the molding for medical use is treated with a surface treating agent, the material having the catalytic effect to the active oxygen species is immobilized thereto by a covalent bonding method. The surface treatment consists in immobilizing the material which has >=2 pieces of different reaction groups within the molecule and can be covalent bonded to the surface of the molding for medical use on one hand and has the catalytic effect to the active oxygen species on the other hand by the covalent bonding method. A silane surface treating agent used for treating the surface of inorg. materials is frequently used for this material. The silane surface treating agent contains an alkoxy group which generates an ether bond by making dealcohol reaction with the hydroxyl group existing on the surface of the inorg. material and is immobilized to the surface of the inorg. material by a commonly practiced method.
