<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a new methallyl cyclohexyl ether useful as a monomer for copolymer having heat resistance, weather resistance, etc., an intermediate for medicine, agricultural chemical, etc. CONSTITUTION:Methallyl cyclohexyl ether expressed by the formula. The compound of the formula is obtained by reacting methallyl chloride with cyclohexanol in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide. The compound of the formula is copolymerizable with various kinds of monomers and heat resistance, weather resistance, etc., can be provided without lowering resistance to ultraviolet ray to a copolymer obtained by further copolymerizing the compound of the formula with other monomer. Thereby, weather resistance and heat resistance can be provided to coatings or adhesives. This producing method can simply and advantageously produce methallyl cylohexyl ether in one step without passing through an intermediate such as metal alkoxide.</p> |
