July 11, 1934, No. 20390. [Class 120 (iii)] One or more strips of regenerated cellulose or a cellulose compound are twisted to form a cord, and the cord produced is coated with a varnish, lacquer, or other coating material to prevent the strips from becoming untwisted. Preferably, the coating material is rubber latex or a solution of rubber, and the rubber coated cord may be given a final coat of a nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate or like lacquer. Alternatively, the twisted strips may be coated with a solution containing both rubber and a cellulose derivative, or any other varnish or coating material.</p> |
