Use of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) as material for slide bearings, especially in bridges, is new. An independent claim is included for a slide bearing for industrial use, especially for bridges with high speed sections, which contains UHMWPE and exceeds EN1337/part 2.
