PURPOSE: To provide a drawing device and a drawing method for metallic pipe so as not to cause the breakage of the pipe in the drawing process, even in the case of developing the uneven thickness in the metallic pipe to be drawn. CONSTITUTION: In this device, a drawing die 2, a drawing plug 3 freely advanced/retreated, a rear end part detecting sensor 6 arranged at the inlet side of the drawing die and detecting the rear end part of the metallic pipe 1 drawn with the die and the plug and a driving device 4 retreating the drawing plug from the working position based on the rear end part detected signal of this rear end part detecting sensor are provided. On the other hand, a process for drawing the metallic pipe 1 by using the drawing die 2 and the drawing plug 3 freely advanced/retreated, a process for detecting the rear end part of the drawn metallic pipe by a detecting sensor 6 arranged at the inlet side of the drawing die and a process for retreating the drawing plug from the working position after detecting the rear end part, are provided. |
