A foil capacitor is described comprising at least two metallised foils (A, B), at least one of said metallised foils being metallised in the form of segments separated by first insulating zones and at least one of the other metallised foils having a continuous metallised portion wherein the segmented metal foil has at least two parallel rows of segments (1, 1') parated by a second insulating zone (4), said segments forming with the continuous portion of the other metallised film, part capacitors connected in parallel with each other, each row of part capacitors being connected in series to other rows of part capacitors, and a non-capacitively active resistive portion (3, 3' each segment is provided between each part capacitor and a connecting electrode (6, 6'). The connecting electrodes are thicker than the segments and the resistive portions (3, 3') are of equal or less thickness and of the same or much less width than the segments. Additional continuous and segmented portions can be provided on each foil in a variety of different arrangements. <IMAGE> |
