PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shaft-holding device capable of being installed around a shaft without requiring a large area and capable of adjusting nip pressure between rotating bodies with a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: A pressurizing member 11 of the shaft-holding device 10 is rotatably supported around a spindle 11a orthogonal to an axial line of a shaft 4a of a separation roller 4. A free end of the pressurizing member 11 is provided with a pressurizing member side connection part 11b for connecting a spring 12. The separation roller 4 inserts its shaft 4a into a shaft insertion port 11d provided between the spindle 11a and the pressurizing member side connection part 11b for being supported by the pressurizing member 11. Inside the shaft insertion port 11d, a pressing part 11e is provided at a position facing against the spindle 11a. The spring 12 is connected between a body side connection part 13 provided on a frame 7 of a paper feeder 1 and the pressurizing member 11. Thereby, moment around the spindle 11a is generated in the pressurizing member 11 and a side surface of the shaft 4a is pressed by the pressing part 11e. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
