PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternator for vehicles which is easy to manufacture, and reduces leakage flux and generation of an eddy current on the surface of a rotor. SOLUTION: The alternator for the vehicles includes: the rotor 2 excited to an N pole and an S pole by energizing a field winding; and a stator which is arranged oppositely to the rotor 2. The rotor 2 includes: a pole-core 23 which does not have a pawl-like magnetic pole at an outer peripheral side; the annular thin plate laminated core 200 in which thin plates are arranged at an outer periphery of the pole-core 23; and a permanent magnet 220 held in a magnet arrangement hole which is formed at the thin plate laminated core 200.
