PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotor for permanent-magnet generators wherein a magnet protection cover can be mechanically secured on a yoke at low cost with ease. SOLUTION: Permanent magnets 3 are fixed on the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 1a of the yoke 1. The surfaces of the permanent magnets 3 are covered with the cylindrical magnet protection cover 4 in the cylindrical portion 1a. A groove 6 is formed in the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 1a of the yoke 1 on the open end 1b side in the circumferential direction so that the groove adjoins the ends of the permanent magnets 3. An anchoring portion 4d whose outside diameter is larger than the inside diameter of the cylindrical portion 1a is formed in a protruding manner on the flange portion 4b on the periphery of the end portion of the magnet protection cover 4, to be positioned on the open end 1b side of the cylindrical portion 1a. The anchoring portion 4d is fit in the groove 6 in the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 1a, and the magnet protection cover 4 is thereby supported on the yoke 1.
