PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the generation of discharge even if large power is inputted, and to improve withstand power in a stub type filter and a diplexer composed of the stub type filter. SOLUTION: The stub type filter 1 has a square wave guide 2 having a hollow inside and stubs 3 which are joined with side faces of the square wave guide 2, in which ends not joined with the square wave guide 2 are closed and which have hollow sections insides. In the stub type filter 1, the hollow section of the square wave guide and the hollow sections of stubs are penetrated, and the hollow sections of the stubs 3 have steps 4 having different sizes. The diplexer has a common wave guide, a first filter with the stub passed through a receiving-frequency band and a second filter with the stub passed through a transmitting-frequency band. A receiving signal passed through the common wave guide is passed through the first filter with the stub, and a transmitting signal passed through the second filter with the stub is passed through the common wave guide.
