PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve distortion compensation in a wide frequency band in a feed-forward amplifier. SOLUTION: A distortion detection part 1 amplifies a signal to be amplified in a main amplifier 14 to detect distortion generated in the main amplifier 14, and a distortion removal part 2 removes distortion detected from the amplified signal. Control parts 3 to 7 generate a pilot signal that is variably settable in frequency in response to a frequency characteristic in the distortion removal part 2 and synthesize the pilot signal with respect to a signal amplified by the main amplifier 14 of the distortion detection part 1 to control the distortion removal part 2 on the basis of a level of the pilot signal involved in the amplified signal from which the distortion is removed by the distortion removal part 2.
