<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-receiving unit with desired performance and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: A light-receiving unit 1 comprises: a support substrate 12 where a light-receiving section 111 and a light-receiving element 11 equipped with a base substrate 112, on which the light-receiving section 111 is mounted; and a transparent substrate 13 disposed to counter the surface, where a light-receiving element 11 of the support substrate 12 is arranged. A frame portion 14 is formed between the support substrate 12 and transparent substrate 13 so that the light-receiving element 11 may be surrounded.
