A prismatic lithium secondary battery is provided to prevent the percent defective due to the up/down flowing of an electrode assembly inside a can, thereby lowering the manufacturing cost of a battery. A prismatic lithium secondary battery comprises a jelly-roll type electrode assembly which two different electrodes and a separator interposed between the two electrodes; a can where the electrode assembly is accommodated; a cap assembly which is combined with the opened upper part of the can; and an insulating case(140) which is installed between the electrode assembly and the cap assembly, wherein a sealing material is coated on the external wall surface(144,146) of the insulating case to form a coating part(150) so as to allow the insulating case to be adhered closely to the internal wall surface of the can. |
