PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable in which optical fibers in a sheath are not held in excessive extra-length by suppressing contraction of the sheath and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: An optical cable 10 includes optical fibers 11, a tension fiber 12, and a sheath 13 for covering the periphery of the optical fibers 11 and the tension fiber 12. The optical fibers 11 and the sheath 13 are not in tight contact with each other. The sheath 13 has a shrinkage of 1% or less when the optical cable 10 is kept at 85°C for four hours after manufacturing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
