Disclosed are a detecting device using a radar signal and a method thereof. The method comprises: a step of transmitting a radar signal to an object composed of a plurality of mediums; a step of allowing the transmitted radar signal to receive a radar signal, reflected by the mediums; a step of generating a bit signal by synthesizing the transmitted radar signal with the received radar signal; a step of filtering the bit signal by using an adaptive filter; and a step of amplifying the filtered bit signal. The present invention provides a device and a method for detecting an object composed of a plurality of mediums, by using a sequentially received/transmitted radar signal.
