PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver of MIMO capable of achieving excellent transmission characteristics with a low amount of calculation, and to provide a reception method and a reception program.SOLUTION: A receiver for receiving a transmission signal transmitted from a transmitter by using a MIMO transmission system includes a stream selection unit for dividing a stream transmitted by the transmitter into a first stream group and a second stream group, and a transmission candidate search unit for generating at least one candidate of the first stream group, generating a linear detection signal of the second stream group on the basis the candidate of the first stream group and generating a transmission candidate, calculating a metric of the transmission candidate, and then selecting the transmission candidate the metric of which is minimum.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
