<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To irradiate one side with light from each of a plurality of single base type lamps without being interfered by other single base type lamps, and to use a ballast unit as a common part in either case that the plurality of the single base type lamps are arranged horizontally or vertically. <P>SOLUTION: The luminaire is provided with the plurality of single base type lamps 2, a dome shaped reflector 3 for housing the plurality of single base type lamps 2 and reflecting light from the lamps 2 downward, and the ballast unit 5 for lighting the plurality of single base type lamps. The ballast unit 5 is provided with a ballast formed by, for example, a rectangular mounting board 51, and a plurality of sockets 52 mounted along a longitudinal direction of the mounting board 51 and including each of the plurality of single base type lamps 2 mounted thereon, and a housing formed of a case 53 and a cover 54 for housing the ballast, and is arranged on the side or in the rear of the reflector 3 (in the figure 1, on the side) so that each of the plurality of sockets 52 is arranged along an opening surface of the reflector 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
