A METHOD AND A DEVICE FOR SCREENING A SUSPENSION

A device for screening a suspension comprises a screening drum (1) which has a substantially horizontal shaft about which it is rotatable, and is provided with a wire cloth (7) stretched over the circumferential surface thereof. It further comprises a feed device (11, 14, 15) for applying suspension (12) to the inner side of the wire cloth (7), the feed device having an outlet gap (15) which is arranged for discharging a flow of suspension (16) and located inside the drum (1) at the upper portion thereof. The gap (15) is directed substantially tangentially in the direction of rotation (R) of the drum (1). The feed device further comprises means adapted to impart to the flow of suspension (16) discharged from the outlet gap (15) a speed which is substantially equal to the peripheral speed of the drum (1).
