A coupling (1) between a tool carrier (5) and a clamping shank (3), holding the tool carrier, of a machine tool is proposed, having a hollow mating pin (7), which is provided at the tool carrier and is provided with a first clamping surface (19) on its inner wall, and a recess (9) which is provided at the end face (73) of the clamping shank and accommodates the mating pin and in which a clamping member (37) is arranged which is displaceable in the axial direction inside the clamping pin and is provided on its outside with a second clamping surface (71) which interacts with the first clamping surface via clamping elements (69) which are arranged on the outside of the clamping member and can be pivoted radially outwards by the clamping member against an elastic restoring force and can be brought into engagement with the first and second clamping surface, which coupling (1) is characterised in that the clamping elements (69) are arranged so as to be freely movable in the axial direction on the periphery of the clamping member designed as a clamping bolt (37) and during a displacement of the clamping member in the clamping direction are pressed between the second clamping surface of the clamping bolt and the first clamping surface in the mating pin so that the two parts (3; 5) allocated to the coupling (1) are firmly fastened to one another. <IMAGE> |
