A method for controlling a heater of a hot water cleaner is provided to prevent a storing tank from being overheated by filling the storing tank with water before heating the storing tank when a user sits on a toilet. A method for controlling a heater of a hot water cleaner includes the steps of: detecting whether water remains in a storing tank; detecting whether a user sits on a toilet; filling the storing tank with water by opening a water supply valve if the user sits on the toilet; and turning on a heater to heat water in the storing tank after the storing tank is filled with water. |
