PURPOSE:To uniformize the frequency response in the vertical direction throughout a picture by controlling the gain of vertical aperture correction in accordance with a line interpolation coefficient. CONSTITUTION:A control signal generating circuit 17 generates a control signal (k) which is changed in accordance with an interpolation weight coefficient (w) from an interpolation coefficient generating circuit 11, and a vertical aperture correction signal is multiplied in a multiplier by this control signal to control the level of the vertical aperture correction signal. The output of the multiplier 16 is added to the signal of a processing circuit 14, and the signal whose vertical sharpness is adaptively controlled in accordance with the interpolation weight coefficient (w) is outputted to an output terminal 19. Consequently, an unsightly picture due to the fact that the frequency response in the vertical direction of the picture is distinctly different by the vertical position of the picture is corrected plainly. |
