An ultra thin surface light source unit, a method for manufacturing the same, and a backlight unit having the same are provided to secure the stability of driving and the uniformity of luminance by solving a temperature deviation due to the unbalance of heat. An ultra thin surface light source unit comprises the first substrate(210), the second substrate(220), a surface electrode part and a thermal diffusion sheet(280). The first substrate and the second substrate, facing each other with a certain distance, form a closed discharge space. The surface electrode part is formed on the surface of either the first substrate or the second substrate. The thermal diffusion sheet is formed on the surface of either the first substrate or the second substrate. The thermal diffusion sheet, made of carbon or silicon, has a thickness of 1 to 5 mm. The thermal diffusion sheet is attached to the external surface of the surface electrode part. |
