A stochastic array processor (24) processors sensor measurements to provide real-time quantification at low analyte concentrations. The array processing is treated as a stochastic process, in which the sensor response (14, 16) and analyte concentration are characterized by time-based models. The sensor's temporal response, either continuous or sampled, is input to the array processor, which looks at the temporal behavior of the sensor array (20) rather than its unit step-responses to quantify the analyte. The array processor can use a variety of different processing techniques such as the state-based extended Kalman filter, time-based matched filter, and frequency-based Wiener filter to perform the classification and quantification.
|
