PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain always stable purifying performance in spite of a quantity of contamination, etc., contained in a liquid by constituting a circulation purifying device for removing contamination particles in the liquid by providing a purifying means housing porous elastic body filter media in a filter container, and compressing and extending the porous elastic body filter media by an extending and compressing means. SOLUTION: The purifying means for circulating and purifying bath water in a bathtub 1 is provided with the porous elastic body filter media 7 housed in the filter container 6 and the extending and compressing means 8 for compressing and extending the porous elastic body filter media 7. A compression ratio detection means 9 for detecting a compression ratio or a conversion compression ratio of the porous elastic body filter media 7 by detecting a contact edge surface position between these extending and compressing means 8 and porous elastic body filter media 7, is provided on the device. An operation of the extending and compressing means 8 is controlled such that the contact edge surface position of the extending and compressing means 8 detected by the compression ratio detection means 9 with the porous elastic body filter media 7 is collated with a position corresponding to a conversion compression ratio equivalent to a preliminarily set target compression ratio by an extending and compressing control means 10 and the positions are made to coincide.
