PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent secondary trouble caused by excess lubricant, when forced lubrication is applied to a sliding portion between an injection sleeve and an injection plunger. SOLUTION: A lubricating device for a die casting machine is constituted in a way that the distal end of a lubricant port 12 faces an annular groove 9 as a lubricant spouting hole 13 and the lubricant port 12 is connected to a pump 16 for supplying the lubricant and a vacuum pump 19 for sucking the lubricant through piping 14 in a selectively switchable manner. When the injection plunger 8 is moved in the advancing direction, the lubricant is spouted from the lubricant spouting hole 13 and forced lubrication is performed. When the injection plunger 8 is moved in the retreating direction, the excess lubricant in the injection sleeve 6 is sucked with the vacuum pump 19 and returned back into a lubricant tank 17.
