PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader configured by using a plurality of image sensors with a small width (small sized mass-production image sensors with high accuracy at a low cost) for reading one line at a low cost without deteriorating the image quality. SOLUTION: In the image reader wherein an image signal processing section processes read outputs from the image sensors, the image signal processing section comprises pre-stage image signal processing sections 11 and a post-stage image signal processing section 12, the post-stage image signal processing section 12 integrates image data output from pre-stage image signal processing sections 11a, 11b, 11c, generates image data among the pre-stage image signal processing sections 11a, 11b, 11c on the basis of the integrated image data, interpolates the image data among the pre-stage image signal processing sections 11a, 11b, 11c to obtain image data of one line.
