A shoe for a compressor is provided to realize light-weight structure of the shoe as well as practical strength, since a semispherical part and a base part of the shoe forming a cavity therebetween are supported by a middle portion connecting part that connects in the middle of the semispherical part and base part. A shoe(21) for a compressor comprises a base part(211), a semispherical part(212), a cavity(213), and a middle portion connecting part(214). The base part comprises an inclined plate, and an inclined plate sliding contact surface(211a) making sliding contact with the inclined plate. The semispherical part is integrated with the base part, having a bearing seat mounted in a recessed surface of a piston in a spherical surface shape, and a bearing seat sliding contact surface(212a) making sliding contact with the bearing seat. The cavity is formed between the base part and the semispherical part. The base part and the semispherical part are connected to each other by the middle portion connecting part which penetrates the center of the base part and the semispherical part, and extends in a direction of the center of the base part and the semispherical part. An opening is contoured between the base part and the semispherical part for communicating the cavity to the outside.
