PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion element capable of converting wavelengths with high efficiency, and to provide a light source device, a projector and a monitor device using the wavelength conversion element. SOLUTION: The wavelength conversion element has a first face 15 and a second face 16 disposed in the opposite side to the first face 15 and converts wavelengths of light transmitting between the first face 15 and the second face 16. At least one of the first face 15 and the second face 16 has a convex face in a convex form, and the convex face is a curved face having a curvature along a first direction among the first direction and a second direction approximately orthogonal to the first direction and converges light between the first face 15 and the second face 16.
