METHOD FOR LOCATING THE LONGITUDINAL POSITION OF WHEELS OF A VEHICLE

A method for setting the longitudinal location of vehicle wheels is provided to reduce the total cost remarkably compared with the case obtaining the one identical final result. A method for setting the longitudinal location of vehicle wheels(2-5) where an electronic module(6-9) having a measurement unit(15) for measuring the vibration applied to the corresponding wheel and due to the rotation of an engine is mounted, comprises the steps of analyzing the spectrum of the signals representing the vibration according to the frequency transferred by the measurement unit of the wheel mounted to the front end and the rear end to at least one rotation velocity of the engine in the preliminary characterization phase of the each vehicle, to establish the differentiating criterion of the signals constituting the frequency offset between the signals; analyzing the signals representing the amplitude changes of the vibrations according to the frequency transferred by the other measurement unit in at least identical time when the engine is driven; and deducing the indication about the longitudinal location of the each wheel from the frequency offset between the signals.
