PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unprecedented novel type OCR system capable of improving accuracy of OCR processing by providing a system itself with a learning function by using a "global rule" normally applied to reception fax documents and a "local rule" applied to only specific reception documents.SOLUTION: The type OCR system includes; a classification function for classifying reception documents received from an originator by FAX into purpose documents and non-purpose documents; an extraction function for OCR-processing the reception documents classified into the purpose documents and extracting "item names", "values", and "coordinates" from the reception documents using an extraction database including the global rule and the local rule; a check/correction function for checking "the values" and "OCR areas"; a data output function of exporting the determinate extraction results; and a learning function of causing the OCR areas designated to be OCR-processed again by the check/correction function, to be reflected in the local rule of the extraction database.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
