The present invention relates to an electronic device and a method for controlling sensitivity of a keypad. According to the present invention, the method for controlling sensitivity of a keypad includes the following steps: detecting an input inputted to a key on a keypad; storing at least one location information of a point detected by corresponding to at least one input inputted to the key; analyzing the at least one stored location information to determine a boundary detecting the input inputted to the key; and controlling the sensitivity of the keypad differently according to the determined detection area. The present invention can remove or reduce a wrong input of a user, and provide user convenience to the user.
