PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake device in which brake force estimation means having a sufficient resolution in a regular use range is easily constituted while having a wide dynamic range, and which can improve control accuracy and cost reduction.SOLUTION: An electric brake device has an electric motor 6, friction material operation means 5, a friction material, a brake rotor, and a control device 2. As brake force estimation means 16 which is arranged at the control device 2, there are arranged direct estimation means 17 which converts an output of a brake sensor 19 for detecting a load or a displacement correspondence amount to a brake force, and indirect estimation means 18 which estimates the brake force on the basis of information other than the output of the brake sensor 19. A range in which the brake force is estimated by the direct estimation means 17 is set as a set low-brake force range, and in a range exceeding the range, the brake force is estimated by the indirect estimation means 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
