PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably feed a sheet even in a state where the sheet is curled.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device comprises: a sensor 301 which detects whether or not the position of a surface of a sheet at the uppermost position loaded on a sheet loading member 206 is at a sheet feeding position; a sheet feeding control part which brings the sheet feeding roller 202 into pressure contact with the sheet at the uppermost position and feeds the sheet at the uppermost position; a sensor 300 which detects whether or not the sheet feeding roller 202 is at the position capable of feeding the sheet at the uppermost position; and a CPU which controls a lift arm 208 for vertically lifting the sheet loading member 206. The CPU elevates the position of the surface of the sheet at the uppermost position loaded on the sheet loading member 206 to the sheet feeding position when the sensor 301 detects that the position of the surface of the sheet at the uppermost position is lower than the sheet feeding position after the sensor 300 detects that the position of the sheet feeding roller 202 is lower than the position capable of feeding the sheet at the uppermost position at the time of feeding the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
