WALL-HUGGING CUBE TAP

The present invention teaches a wall-hugging cube top device having a novel safety feature. The device includes a two-prong male electrical contact for plugging into a wall receptacle with at least one female electrical contact, for receiving at least one two-prong male plug in electrical connection, the device being capable of accepting only a two-prong male plug with barrier means mounted on the device blocking connection with a three-prong male plug by having the barrier means block the third grounding prong of a three-prong plug from passing around the outer walls of the device. The barrier means includes a shoulder on the outer walls of the device in proximity to the female electrical contact means. Preferably a plurality of female contact means are included. The device includes a snap-mounted cover and base and a pair of plates for electrically connecting the male and female contacts, ine plate being positioned on the base and the other press-positioned on the cover.
