PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a rail so as to obtain the hardness satisfying a regulating value without developing the bending to the rail, at the time of forcedly cooling the high temp. rail just after hot-rolling or heated to austenitic zone temp. or higher after hot-rolling in order to make fine pearlitic structure of the rail top part. SOLUTION: The high temp. rail 1 heated to the austenitic zone temp. or higher, is fixed with a clamp and after forcedly cooling only the foot back part 1b for a prescribed time, the cooling to the top part 1a thereof is started and the cooling to both of the rail top part and the foot back part is executed until the transformation of the rail top part completes, and the rail top part is made to the fine pearlitic structure without developing the bending to the rail. |
