At the time of using Q (mm3/sec) for volumetric flow rate of the molten metal 6 ejected from the nozzle 3 and (w) (mm) for width of the obtd. rapidly cooled thin strip 8, the magnet material is produced so as to satisfy the following conditions: Inw<=0.3.lnQ-1.0, lnw<=0.3.lnQ-2.9, and 4.5<=lnQ<=6.9.
