PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily insert a furnished accessory by a small machine, in a short cycle time by providing at least two elements for heating only a part of fusing lips of an article on a plate and moving the elements separately. SOLUTION: Two hot plate elements are separately moved. When plastic shells 21, 22 are to be fused, the upper shell 21 is carried between stationary supporting arms 23 of an upper platen 24, while the lower shell 22 is carried between movable arms 25 of a lower platen 27. Plate holders 30, 31 support plate elements 34-37, a cold portion 40 and a hot portion 41 are provided in each plate element, and infrared lamps 46 are provided in gaps. The plate elements 34-37 are moved, thereby locally melting fusing lips by hot regions 41. The platens 24, 27 are then opened again, and after the plate elements 34-37 are moved outside the field, the fusing lips of the shells 21, 22 are contacted with each other. |
