TELEPHONE SPEECH CONTROL SYSTEM, INTERMEDIATE PROCESSING DEVICE, AND EXCHANGE

A telephone speech control system lightening the load on an application program of the CTI and facilitating the installation of an application program. The system includes an intermediate processing unit (middle ware) having a call processing section (104), a speech data processing section (106), a state managing section (105) for holding the states of the call processing section and the speech data processing section, and a control section (103) for controlling the call processing section and the speech data processing section, and an application program (101) for sending a request to the intermediate processing unit. The control section collates the state in which a request of the application program can be fulfilled with the state of the state managing section. When the two states do not agree with each other, the control section sends a request to perform a processing to achieve agreement to the call processing section and the speech data processing section. The application program can command the intermediate processing unit to perform a desired operation only by sending the same speech reproduction request or the same recording request at all times to the intermediate processing unit without managing the call connection and the connection of the speech data path.
