PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appropriate method for removing manganese in raw water for service water with an amidoxime resin, and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In the method for removing manganese from raw water for service water in a water purification system with a flocculation sedimentation tank and a filtration tank, water running off the flocculation sedimentation tank or the filtration tank is brought into contact with an amidoxime resin.
