PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information in an optimal mode for every communication terminal different in function in the case of performing information provision by using a two-dimensional bar code. SOLUTION: The system is provided with an information management means 100 for unitarily managing information to be provided for a user. The information management means 100 and a portable telephone 10a which can read a two-dimensional bar code 4 are connected via a telecommunication circuit 50 (including the Internet 30). As a function of the information management means 100, the two-dimensional bar code 40 which the portable telephone 10a can read is generated in correspondence with information on an information provider, the model of the portable telephone 10a is discriminated, the information is provided by using an information providing method appropriate to the model of the portable telephone 10a, and the information provider is charged.
