PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an update system for updating the content of a music database simply and inexpensively in a terminal unit having the music database. SOLUTION: The update system has a transmitter 20 and a terminal unit 30. The transmitter 20 comprises the music database 21 for transmission that stores each music database information consisting of identification information, and music information corresponding to the identification information (i); and a broadcast means 23 for multiplexing the music database information from the database 21 to broadcast waves. The terminal unit 30 comprises a reception means 33 for receiving the broadcast waves from the broadcast means 23, an extraction means 34 for extracting the music database information from the received broadcast waves, and an update means 32 for storing the extracted music database information at a reception-side musical database (ii).
