PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a silver halide color photosensitive material by which images are stably obtained, and when processing is started in a state where a processing solution in a development processing apparatus is new and processing is continued, color optical density according to exposure energy can stably be obtained at all times. SOLUTION: In the processing method for a silver halide color photosensitive material, a silver halide color photosensitive material having on a support a silver halide emulsion layer containing a coupler of which the acid dissociation constant in an 80% aqueous ethanol solution is 7.0-9.0 is processed with a processing solution containing an onium salt.
