PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner composition for electrostatic charge development, the toner causing no scumming, suppressing toner leakage of supplied toner caused by reset failure of the toner on a developing roller and occurence of stripes on a conveyance surface due to electrostatic aggregation, and giving excellent image stability. SOLUTION: The toner obtained by externally adding inorganic fine particles to a toner base having at least a binder resin, a colorant and a charge control agent, is characterized in that the toner contains a metal salt of salicylic acid and/or a metal salt of its derivative as the charge controlling agent and contains a magnesium silicate compound expressed by general formula (1):Mg<SB>x</SB>Si<SB>y</SB>O<SB>(x+2y)</SB>, wherein x and y are integers, as the inorganic fine particles.
