Hydraulic braking assistance method and system

The method involves determining whether a saturation point of an amplifier device is attained or brake caliper plates are subjected to fading, and whether a gradient of a master cylinder pressure is lesser than a threshold. A determination is made whether an effective deceleration of a motor vehicle is lesser than an adaptable function of the pressure and an anti-locking function is not activated. An assistance device is activated till the anti-locking function is activated and the pressure is sufficient to maintain the anti-locking function or lesser than an output threshold (SS). An independent claim is also included for a braking assistance system comprising a hydraulic control unit and an electronic control unit comprising a braking assistance function.
