GRIFOLA FRONDOSA-ORIGIN SUBSTANCE HAVING ANTIINFLUENZA VIRUS ACTIVITY AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

It has been found out that a fraction having a potent antiinfluenza virus activity via microphage activation or an active substance is distributed in low-molecular weight fractions of a Grifola frondosa extract. Thus, it is intended to develop a method of the convenient and highly efficient production thereof and employ the same in foods, drinks, drugs, feeds, feed additives and so on. The above-described problem has been solved by treating the extract with a molecular sieve device such as an ultrafiltration device or a gel filtration device so as to lessen the effects on the substance having a potent antiinfluenza virus activity contained therein and minimize contaminants, and taking out a glycoprotein-containing fraction or a saccharide-protein complex-containing fraction within a molecular weight range of from 30000 to 100000.
