<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated cutting tool which has a multilayer structure where the layers of metal nitride, metal carbide or metal carbonitride are alternately laminated, and where a substrate is coated with a thin, and hard coating having adhesiveness and wear resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In the coating, the sequence of the thickness of respective layers does not have a cycle period and basically irregular over whole of the multilayer structure. A average chemical composition is Al<SB>a</SB>Ti<SB>b</SB>Si<SB>c</SB>Cr<SB>d</SB>(C<SB>e</SB>N<SB>1-e</SB>), in the formula, 0<a<0.5, preferably, 0.05<a<0.4, in the formula, 0.1<b<0.9, preferably, 0.3<b<0.9, in the formula, 0.01<c<0.17, preferably, 0.02<c<0.1, in the formula, 0.02<c<0.1, in the formula, 0≤d<0.06, a+b+c+d=1, 0≤e<=1, and preferably, 0≤e<0.2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
