<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical diagnostic apparatus improved in the accuracy of an IMT (Intima Media Thickness) measurement. <P>SOLUTION: The medical image diagnostic apparatus 1 comprises: a luminance distribution acquisition means 25 for acquiring the luminance distribution in the thickness direction of a blood vessel wall on the basis of image data including the blood vessel of an object; a setting means 26 for setting an adventitia reference point and an intima reference point on the basis of the luminance distribution; an extraction means 28 for extracting the regions of the adventitia and intima of the blood vessel on the basis of the adventitia and intima reference points; a measurement means (operation means 30) for measuring the compound thickness of the intima and media of the blood vessel on the basis of the extracted two regions; and a display part 22 for displaying a measured result. Then, the setting means 26 is configured to set a maximum point 54 having the maximum luminance among the maximum points appearing in the luminance distribution as the adventitia reference point and set the intima reference point by performing a search from the adventitia reference point to the side of the inner lumina 40 of the blood vessel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
