PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door retaining device for a folding door, which prevents door vibration due to centrifugal force of a fire door, promotes quick closure of the door, and does not require much work on a fire door surface when set. SOLUTION: The door retaining device for the retaining door is formed of: a mounting seat which is set at a lower corner portion of a first door that faces a second door; a fixed shaft which is inserted into a fixed shaft guide fitting and a fixed shaft support fitting that are fixed to the mounting seat, and has a slot formed at the center thereof; a support body which is secured to one end of the fixed shaft; a spring and a stopper ring which are set on the fixed shaft; a driving lever rotatably secured to the other end of the fixed shaft; and an operating lever which has a roller on one end thereof, for abutting on the second door, and has the other end thereof secured to a side portion of the fixed shaft guide fitting. Herein the other end of the driving lever and a longitudinal central portion of the operating lever are axially supported, and the fixed shaft is movable in a longitudinal direction of the first door by an energizing force of the spring, whereby both the operating lever and the driving lever are rotated in conjunction with each other.
