PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has high battery characteristics in normal use and endurance when being overcharged.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided according to the present invention, which comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material 16. The positive electrode active material 16 includes: particle forms of a lithium complex oxide 16c including as constituent elements, at least lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, and tungsten; and a nickel oxide layer 16s formed on the surface of the lithium complex oxide. In addition, the content of the tungsten is 0.05-2 mol% to 100 mol% of metal elements constituting the lithium complex oxide 16c, other than lithium. Further, the content of the nickel oxide is 0.01-2 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of the lithium complex oxide 16c.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
